CENTERVILLE, IOWA, March 1, 2016 — In March 1986, Wells Vehicle Electronics opened the doors to its distribution and packaging center in Centerville. Thirty years later, the dedicated Wells team continues to work hard and continuously implement innovations to keep the facility and operations best in class.

Today, the facility employs 150 people and 19 of these employees have been there since 1986. Wells is a global manufacturer and supplier of advanced vehicle electronics components for automotive original equipment and replacement applications. Wells was acquired last year by NGK SPARK PLUG CO., LTD.

“This is a great anniversary, celebrating a thriving facility in Centerville as well as congratulating employees for 30 years of continuous service. There’s no doubt that the Wells Vehicle Electronics business is what it is today because of our employees’ dedication and innovation,” said Wells President Dave Peace. “We’re certainly grateful to the workforce in Centerville and we look forward to building our business together for many years to come.”

During a service celebration at the facility, Centerville employees were given a Lands’ End jacket. “We’re constantly implementing the latest technologies that allow us to be ahead of the competition,” said Larry Whitaker, a 30-year Wells Vehicles Electronics Centerville employee. “It’s exciting to work for one of the most technologically advanced warehouses in our industries.”
