Headquarters & Manufacturing – Fond du Lac, WI
In 1983, Wells constructed an electronics manufacturing facility in Fond du Lac, WI. Due to the large growth in both Aftermarket and OE business, additions to this building took place in 1995 and 1997. The facility expanded its manufacturing space by nearly 40 percent again in 2013 when the company constructed its corporate headquarters adjacent to the plant. Shipments from this facility support the automotive industry in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. This facility was QS 9000 certified in 1996, ISO/IATF 16949 certified in 2005I, SO 14001:2015 certified in 2015, and ISO / IEC 17025 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.” A highly skilled work force, combined with advanced technical capabilities, allow this facility to produce leading edge products with unsurpassed quality.
In 2013 Wells Vehicle Electronics moved its corporate headquarters housing office staff and engineers from its 80-year-old facility on Brooke Street in Fond du Lac, WI, to a new office constructed adjacent to the company's electronics manufacturing plant on Rolling Meadows Drive (Fond du Lac).
Distribution – Centerville, IA
Distribution is a key to the success of our business. In 1986, Wells built a state-of-the-art, centrally located, two-hundred-thousand square-foot distribution complex in Centerville, Iowa. This facility features its own proprietary packaging lines, an extremely detailed managing system and real time inventory control that is directly linked to headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Packaging is printed using cutting-edge technology. One hundred percent scanning ensures bar-codes are scan ready and reliable when you receive them. Wire-guided vehicles stock and pick orders from a line with more than 33,000 part numbers in our system and is continually growing. In addition to being ISO 14001 certified, we received the 2004 Iowa Recycling Award for Excellence. This award recognizes companies’ solid waste handling and recycling practices. Manufacturing – Reynosa, Mexico
In 1988, Wells broke ground for a contemporary manufacturing facility in a nearly empty industrial park in Reynosa, Mexico. Since then more than 200 other American businesses have joined us here. This facility is home to state-of-the-art thermoplastic injection presses and finishing equipment. Our Reynosa plant manufactures sensors, switches, solenoids, coils, temperature sending units, ballast resistors, distributor caps and rotors, ignition wires, contacts and condensers. Seamless communication between our Reynosa plant and headquarters in Wisconsin is accomplished through our data lines. We test every manufactured part to OE or specifications that are more stringent.
