ABS Wheel Speed Sensor
The ABS Wheel Speed Sensor monitors wheel speed and slippage and communicates with the electronic brake control module (EBCM). The module then uses this data to manage multiple systems, such as the anti-lock braking system, stability control system and more.
Wells ABS Wheel Speed Sensors are engineered to match OE parts in fit, form and function. They have been subjected to electrical, thermal shock, corrosion and vibration tests to ensure durability and longevity. ABS Wheel Speed Sensor materials include:
- Heat- and chemical-resistant thermoplastic housing
- Precision-wound, coated copper windings
- Silicone weather-proof seal prevents moisture from entering connection point
- Wire diameter and sheathing that are equivalent to or larger than the OE part
- All brackets and mounting hardware
ABS Wheel Speed Sensors are typically located on each wheel but may also be located on the rear differential.
If your vehicle is experiencing the following, it may be time to replace your ABS Wheel Speed Sensor:
- Illuminated ABS light or stability control light
- ABS activation at very low vehicle speed
