Engine Sensor

Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor

The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor monitors the pressure within the intake manifold. The engine control module uses this information to determine ignition timing and the optimal amount of fuel.

Wells MAP Sensors are engineered and tested to meet or exceed OE parts in fit, form and function.

The MAP Sensor is located under the hood on the engine. It is typically mounted on the intake manifold or throttle body.

If the MAP Sensor is failing, a vehicle may display the following symptoms:

  • Rough idle
  • Reduced fuel economy
  • Sluggish acceleration
  • Increased emissions or failed emissions test
  • Check engine is illuminated
