Engine Sensor

Throttle Position Sensor

The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) monitors the position of the throttle blade within the throttle body. The engine control module uses this information to determine the proper amount of fuel for the cylinders as well as ignition timing, transmission shifting and more.

Wells TPS are engineered and tested to meet or exceed OE parts in fit, form and function.

The TPS is located on the throttle body.

If the TPS is failing, a vehicle may display the following symptoms:

  • Hesitation or stumble when accelerating
  • Transmission shifting problems
  • Increased emissions or failed emissions test
  • Check engine light is illuminated
