Transmission Sensors

Automatic Transmission Speed Sensors detect the speed of the input shaft and output shaft and share this data with the powertrain control module so it can regulate speed, shifting pressure and gear changes.

An Automatic Transmission Speed Sensor is usually mounted on the side of the transmission, near an input or output shaft.

If your vehicle is experiencing the following, it may be time to replace a transmission sensor:

• Delayed or hard shifting
• Check engine light illuminated
